Our Bike Mechanics

The career bike mechanic

There are some who picture a bike mechanic as a tattooed, surly man who works in the back room of a bike shop who has no interest whatsoever of your opinion of his work. True, there are some bike mechanics that fit that description, it certainly is not the template of all bike mechanics. However, in the defense of the surly bike mechanic that does not want to be disturbed, I can say the only reason bike shops keep them on is they may be damn good mechanics. It is sort of like the question of, what kind of doctor do you want attending your health? There are those doctors who have a wonderful bedside manner and there are those who lack the human touch but are talented clinicians. In the past we have had the surly mechanics and they were brilliant at the work. Today, all of our mechanics are cheerful and enjoy not only working and building electric bikes, but meeting and spending time with our clients.

One of Jeff's specialities is tools. He knows who to build them, use them, and maintain them. Other than personnel, there is nothing more important in a shop than its tools. We are constantly looking for a better tool to get a better finished product.
